USCWM Circa 1977 or 1978 Description : These are 16mm "one light" (not suffiently color corrected for final film use) film to tape transfer (telecine) NTSC frame stills. The film in question appears to be some sort of positive work or final print. Many exact same shots appear to be available with two different sets of film sources indicating two different work prints from the same negative. (Perhaps the cleaner negative still exists in the vault also.) Also from one shot there appears to be a film dissolve indicating that portion is also from some print, not a camera original. Also on this reel is about 2 minutes of some Billy Graham footage while on an India trip. Also on this reel is a short 11 seconds of a Pat Boone stand-up for a USCWM project. The colors are not corrected and any shot areas with motion will exibit obvious interlaced artifacts (shown as horizontal lines.) The original film and a copy of the source tape used for these stills is to be found at the USCWM/WCIU tape vault after July 2004. It is my hope that some extended consideration of the USCWM tape archives is considered: that they are cataloged and preserved well, including an index of copyright ownership, in case the desire to utilize any footage for press media or other projects arise. - David Sutherland turnkit@hotmail.com June 2004
